Baby Alicia born on 15 Feb 2009

After my wedding, I have almost forgotten this blog. I am going to start blogging again, as our product of love is out. I am going to record down her growing process in this blog. My birth story :

14 Feb 2009
1900 - Start to feel some contraction, however its not painful
2200 - Seems like waterbag leaking
2230 - Decided to head to hospital to check
2330 - Arrive at KKH delivery suite

15 Feb 2009
0040 - Midwive examine my dilation and contraction, doesn't seems to be labour.
0100 - prepare for admission, due to suspect of waterbag leaking
0130 - admitted to my ward

0600 - nurse came into my room and wake me up to go down to delivery suite for checkup.

0700 - gynae check for water bag, do drip
0730 - gynae break water bag (3cm dilated)
0745 - drip oxytocin
0800 - start to have mild menus cramp
0900 - start to do epidural procedure (4cm dilated)
0930 - epidural procedure completed
0945 - no pain at all, however very itchy due to side effect of epi. start to sleep

1100 - woke up due to feeling of contraction

1145 - dr came to check epidural due to the pain from contraction, cos getting bad
1200 - dr increase epi doseage
1230 - no improvement from increase epi, midwive check and realise 9cm dilated. midwive comment i dilate very fast, they expect 1 cm/hour. no wonder the epi doesnt relief me at that time. use laughing gas for relief, which is better at that point.
1250 - dr came and add more doseage of epi and 1 other medicine to help me relief the pain.
1300 - midwive checked, 10cm dilated.
1320 - gynae came back to check me, he say baby very low position, can prepare to push.
1330 - start pushing with gynae help to push my tummy

1344 - baby Alicia is out. i think gynae helped alot with the pushing of my tummy, less than 10 push, baby is out. however, side effect is my left tummy abit blue black. haha..

1400 - side effect of epi start to come, fever, shiver, and vomiting. however, still worth it, as i think it will be extremely painful without it.

After gynae finish with my stitches, midwive saw that Alicia is sucking her thumb, so she bring her to me and let her latch on. This is the first time I have close contact with Alicia, I felt so heartwarming, however the side effect of epidural make me vomit while she is latching on. Hence, midwive got to bring her back to her bed. Alicia lie back on her bed, and turned her head to me, and she looked at me as if she wants to continue to latch on. This scene is capture deeply in my heart, she is so lovely.

First visit

Today I visited A.Prof John Tee from KKH. He did a scan to see the baby, and tries to listen to baby heartbeat. Dr Tee manage to see baby, and say that baby is about 2mm. However, heartbeat is too faint, cannot manage to hear it. Dr Tee asked me to return in 2 weeks time, and he expect baby to be 16mm, as baby need to grow 1mm/day. After seeing Dr Tee, I became very uncomfortable due to nausea, and no appetite. I extend my leave with my boss, stayed home and rest. Victor is very supportive, he see me in discomfort, he also extend his leave to take care of me. I am so glad that he is always so supportive.

Positive Discovery

Yesterday, I bought a ClearBlue testkit from watson to test, and the result shown was . This is the first time I use such test kit, so was unsure of the result shown. We decide to go to a GP to confirm on it. GP congrats us after doing a urine test, though the line is quite faint, he still confirms it, as he thinks its the early stage. I was given vitamin C and Folic Acid. This news really came out surprisingly, as we didn't really expect that. However we are happy to know about the news, and start preparing for our new member in the family. :)

11 days more...

I just had my Gou Da Li on sunday, Victor came with his auntie to give the gifts, si dian jin, and pin jin. My grandmum also came to help to make sure all the traditional gifts for us is in place. All my relatives came to my house for buffet lunch and took the cake with them. Although there are some minor hicups, the GDL went quite smooth. After that, I also went to JB to pray to Victor's ancestors and annonce our wedding to them. This is to show respect and get blessings from them. We also receive ang pow and blessing from his JB uncle. He and his family have always treat us very nice, really appreciate them.

Now left with 11 days.. We are both getting more and more stressed up with the preparations. Maybe due to the weather or the stress, the flu bug is with me right now. "ah chiu"... sneezing away.. While I was sleeping, I received a call from the Bridal Shop telling me that I got to change my appointment for the final fitting tomorrow. This week is a very busy week for me. Thursday meeting my Interior Designer to discuss on the design, friday I need to collect the funplates for my wedding. Saturday, meeting up with the florist and my bridesmaid for my hen's party. So I got no choice but bring the flu bug with me for the final fitting tonight. Hopefully, it will not spread to other people. Hm.. maybe i should wear the N95 mask with me. haha...

Next month is the day!!

Oh.. Time is running so fast, my big day is just next month. I am getting more and more anxious as each day passes by. Hm.. Seems like we have cleared quite alot of things in my wedding task list. Well.. thanks to my dearest HTB (hubby to-be), he has been putting in alot of efforts in getting the things done, and making sure that I can relax and stay pretty for the big day. Pipi, really appreciate all your efforts.

I have uploaded some more photos. These photos are edited by me, how's my skills? Haha.. It's still far from the professional. I am just doing it for fun.

My ang bao box and photo montage are done. The photo montage and ang bao box is very well done. Big thanks to Huimin and Weiyang. ;) You two really help me alot, thanks for all the hardwork and effort.

Outstanding items on our plate:

  1. Finalize guest list (Big headaches for this)
  2. Coordinate with hotel on wedding theme, favours, etc
  3. Coordinate with Videographer, Photographer, and Makeup artist
  4. Come out with actual day schedule and coordinate with brothers & sisters

Honeymoon in Switzerland & Italy

We went to the Travel fair at Suntec last saturday, there were lots of people queueing to enquire/sign up for the tour packages. We went to ASA, CTC, Dynasty and SA booth. After going through the different schedule and pricing, we finally choose SA Tours. We heard from our friends that their are the better one for leading Europe tours, and the tour schedule can meet with our requirements. Although its the most expensive among all, we believe that it will be value for money. Hm.. Now looking forward to the trip and saving for Rolex watch from Switzerland, LV and Gucci bags from Milan. Keke.. It's unlikely that we will have enough for the Rolex before the trip unless fortune god is with us. Haha...

So one thing off the task list. Oh.. its actually two things off that list - honeymoon and wedding car. Haha... We are honour to have Grace's long time friend cum buddy's boyfriend to provide the car and act as "Ahmad". Special thanks to both of them Huimin and Weiyang. Although I don't have a Mercs, I still want to volunteer myself as the driver for your wedding next time round. haha... Or maybe both of you can pray for me that I strike 4D, Toto, or Big Sweep, so that I can afford a decent enough car to be the wedding car. Keke..

Live Interview with Radio 1003

We just came back from the live interview @ Radio 1003 for their new 爱情马拉松 programme. We talked about our dating experience, our wedding preparation and the Marriage Preparation Programme (MPP) we attended. This program is sponsored by MCYS, so naturally we talk more about the good things of getting married, and about the MPP course. We really think that the MPP course is a very interesting session and couples who plans to get married should attend to know more information about marriage life. To find out more on MPP, please go to http://www.family.gov.sg. We were quite nervous at the beginning, but the DJs are very professional and lead us into the conversation. Both Wen Hong and Li Mei are very friendly, they showed us their equipment in the studio, it looked very interesting to both of us. Here's the photo we took with them inside the studio.

It was an eye-opening experience for both of us. Their studio seems quite new and well equiped. After the interview, we realise that its not easy to be a DJ, you really need to be quick-witted and be able to handle the machine well to be a good one. Overall we enjoyed the interview and will definitely be interested to visit the studio again.

This two 2530 的幸福 CDs are the door gift we got from 1003

HDB Queenstown Flat selection

Today 13-12-2006 is a D-Day for our flat selection. I am very worried that our queue number 187 will not be able to get us our preferred choice, which is #26-314. However it was already taken up by the others on the very first day. So we list down our priorities. After going through all the anxiety and stress, we finally got our Number 22nd choice, which is a unit at level 27. We feel so relieve and happy to get a house of our own.

2nd Fitting

Today I went for my 2nd fitting for my wedding and evening gowns. Joanne was there to give me my trial makeup. The makeup was very good and natural, Victor and I thinks that its very nice. Victor say I look very pretty with the makeup and the gowns.
Huimin on leave today, so she went to see my fitting. Hehe... she also praise that the gown and makeup was good. hehe... Feel so excited about my photoshoot in Bintan now. The gowns was abit lose on me, meaning I have slim down abit. However, Helen do not want to alter for me yet, cos she is afraid that I will gain back after x'mas and new year season. So I am waiting for my 3rd fitting before my photoshoot in Jan for her to alter it. Victor was also excited with his own fitting. He was changing all different suits to see which one suits him better. Helen commented that he is definitely a "hiao" groom. What do you guys think? Haha...

Love of the Ring

Yesterday, finally we finally selected a pair of rings at Lee Hwa Jewellery shop at Orchard. The design is half brightly polish and half gross. My ring cost more and heavier than Grace's ring. Keke. The feel of it so solid, at least does not feel like wearing a can drink cap. Grace's ring has two lovely small diamond on the top. It comes with a lovely ring pillow. But we will still have to wait for the shop to finish customizing before we can have the rings in January 2007.
The two rings really suit us, as when we pick the rings there are no objection from either of us.

Next we went over to Centerpoint HUSH Puppy shop and bought a pair of shoes. I like the comfort cushioning of the shoe sole. Maybe they should rephase it "HUSH Puppy AIR".

Grace also manage to get a pair of wedding shoes from U.R.S. It look very nice and shiny on her, I think she will definitely look nice and beautiful on our wedding. Can't wait to see her with the nice Divine gown with the pair of shiny shoes. Keke.

Today is such a happy day.. This morning I checked HDB website, and the result is still not out yet. So I was quite ken cheong.. so I called HDB and asked.. I was so happy that the HDB staff said, "Your balloting is successful." hehe..

Hurray... Yippee... We got a queue number from the balloting exercise. The lucky number is 187. hehe.. Which means that we have at least 68 flats to choose from the blk of flat.. Hm.. Getting very excited with our lovenest. hehe.. Both of us are so happy that we can get a house there. Yippee....

Tonight, I went to Divine to confirm my wedding gown. Victor saw the gown, both of us like it, so one thing off my tray. hehe.. I love going to the shop for fitting, Helan, my designer will give me lots of ideas on the design. Really enjoyed my time there.. now need to confirm my evening gown design, and looking forward to the fitting.

Photo Montage in minutes...

I tired using Microsoft Photo Story 3 for Windows XP. Thumbs up for this freeware from Microsoft, it can really help you to create a simple photo montage in just a few minutes. The following are the steps to creating your own photo story.

1. Import your photos.
2. Add text to your photos (if any).
3. Perform customize motion (Photo Story will perform some motion on your photos, you can skip this step, unless you want to customize the motion.)
4. Select background music for your montage.
5. Specify a location for storing your photo montage.
6. Your photo montage is be created.

It's as simple as 1,2,3.. haha.. I am going to use it for my wedding photo montage. Now gotta start finding some photos for it.

Phase 1 of Lovenest - Application of flat

Today I happened to access the HDB site, and saw that there is a balloting exercise going on. I was so happy, and click the link to find more information about the balloting.

Hurray.. The flat that we are waiting for is finally out for balloting. I was so excited, and give Victor a called. He is as excited as I do, we are really looking forward to get the flat, and create a lovenest of our own. We immediately applied for the Queenstown 4 room flat without further delay (as if we will get the house as soon as we apply.). So what are you waiting for, wish us luck, and pray that Lady Luck will be with us for the balloting exercise. Hehe.. ok, as a reward for those who pray for me, I will treat you to my house warming party (if I got the flat). Thanks in advance for your prayers. Hm.. But the result will only be out by end October. I am looking forward to receive good news on the result, will update you guys again. ;)

Getting a Videographer

After seeing comments from people in the forum, we have finally met up with a few videographers. And the winner is.... Christopher Tay from HiLO production.
He is definitely value for money. For the amount I pay and the work he produce, I believe its a good deal. ;) Hope I won't have any regrets.
