Alicia Development

I have being singing the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" I learnt from Marina Square baby gym (in August) with her almost every weekend. I will hold her hand and point to her head, shoulders, knees and toes, as I sing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" to her. She will laugh out happily whenever I sing the song and do the pointing act with her. Today, she held my hand, as I sang the song again. She is totally in control, pointing to her head, as I sing "Head", shoulder as I sing "Shoulder". She even held my hand to point to her head to signal me to continue playing when I stop singing. I am really glad that she is learning from the play sessions with her. I felt so proud that my little precious darling knows how to point to her body parts. Now I am convince that it is effective to teach through playing.

For the past few weeks, Alicia had been very clingy to me. Whenever she sees me passing by her, she will lift up her arms for me to carry her. If I walk away without carrying her, she will cry and turn on the "tap" of her tears. Tears will continuously flow out just like how the tap reacts when its turn on. Strange enough, the "tap" will be turned on immediately after i carry her, the reaction is almost instantanteous. With such an instant response on the control of her tears, I can't help wondering if she was doing a performance of crying. However I still love her clinchiness, as she will lie her head on my shoulder when I carry her, as if she is enjoying Mummy's hug.

7 months update

Poor Alicia was sick, she started off with rashes that look like heat rash, and it doesn't gets better after few days. We brought her to KKH and PD gave her some cream, and mention that she should be alright. As she was still enjoying happily and drinking her milk regularly. She is also growing well, weighing 8.065kg at 6.5months.

Wearing her pink pilot hat

She is getting better, and her appetite is very good. Whenever she sees us eating, she will move her mouth and cry for food too. We gave her abit of bread, and she loves it. Even after having her milk, she will still cry for the bread when we are eating our breakfast. When Mummy is drinking Milo, she will also cry, as if she is hungry for more food. Daddy told her, "You cannot eat like this hor, else you will grow up to become a fat mei mei".

Happy 3rd month!

My darling Alicia is 3 month old. Mummy have created this photo footage of her growing up process from week 1 to 3 month old. The background music is her favorite bedtime rhyme. She used to kick my tummy in excitement when she hear the song. Now she will put on a gentle smile while listening to the song in her favorite cradle.

Alicia, Mummy and Daddy love you. We hope you continue to grow well and healthy as each day go.

Baby Alicia born on 15 Feb 2009

After my wedding, I have almost forgotten this blog. I am going to start blogging again, as our product of love is out. I am going to record down her growing process in this blog. My birth story :

14 Feb 2009
1900 - Start to feel some contraction, however its not painful
2200 - Seems like waterbag leaking
2230 - Decided to head to hospital to check
2330 - Arrive at KKH delivery suite

15 Feb 2009
0040 - Midwive examine my dilation and contraction, doesn't seems to be labour.
0100 - prepare for admission, due to suspect of waterbag leaking
0130 - admitted to my ward

0600 - nurse came into my room and wake me up to go down to delivery suite for checkup.

0700 - gynae check for water bag, do drip
0730 - gynae break water bag (3cm dilated)
0745 - drip oxytocin
0800 - start to have mild menus cramp
0900 - start to do epidural procedure (4cm dilated)
0930 - epidural procedure completed
0945 - no pain at all, however very itchy due to side effect of epi. start to sleep

1100 - woke up due to feeling of contraction

1145 - dr came to check epidural due to the pain from contraction, cos getting bad
1200 - dr increase epi doseage
1230 - no improvement from increase epi, midwive check and realise 9cm dilated. midwive comment i dilate very fast, they expect 1 cm/hour. no wonder the epi doesnt relief me at that time. use laughing gas for relief, which is better at that point.
1250 - dr came and add more doseage of epi and 1 other medicine to help me relief the pain.
1300 - midwive checked, 10cm dilated.
1320 - gynae came back to check me, he say baby very low position, can prepare to push.
1330 - start pushing with gynae help to push my tummy

1344 - baby Alicia is out. i think gynae helped alot with the pushing of my tummy, less than 10 push, baby is out. however, side effect is my left tummy abit blue black. haha..

1400 - side effect of epi start to come, fever, shiver, and vomiting. however, still worth it, as i think it will be extremely painful without it.

After gynae finish with my stitches, midwive saw that Alicia is sucking her thumb, so she bring her to me and let her latch on. This is the first time I have close contact with Alicia, I felt so heartwarming, however the side effect of epidural make me vomit while she is latching on. Hence, midwive got to bring her back to her bed. Alicia lie back on her bed, and turned her head to me, and she looked at me as if she wants to continue to latch on. This scene is capture deeply in my heart, she is so lovely.
