Alicia Development

I have being singing the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" I learnt from Marina Square baby gym (in August) with her almost every weekend. I will hold her hand and point to her head, shoulders, knees and toes, as I sing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" to her. She will laugh out happily whenever I sing the song and do the pointing act with her. Today, she held my hand, as I sang the song again. She is totally in control, pointing to her head, as I sing "Head", shoulder as I sing "Shoulder". She even held my hand to point to her head to signal me to continue playing when I stop singing. I am really glad that she is learning from the play sessions with her. I felt so proud that my little precious darling knows how to point to her body parts. Now I am convince that it is effective to teach through playing.

For the past few weeks, Alicia had been very clingy to me. Whenever she sees me passing by her, she will lift up her arms for me to carry her. If I walk away without carrying her, she will cry and turn on the "tap" of her tears. Tears will continuously flow out just like how the tap reacts when its turn on. Strange enough, the "tap" will be turned on immediately after i carry her, the reaction is almost instantanteous. With such an instant response on the control of her tears, I can't help wondering if she was doing a performance of crying. However I still love her clinchiness, as she will lie her head on my shoulder when I carry her, as if she is enjoying Mummy's hug.
